I just realized a true horror of this guy...
Any distressed child that calls for their father with word 'Daddy' more then twice in row...
Or even worse! Happy kids at family dinner that just liked to repeat word Daddy will summon this nightmare to devour their parents right in front of them. What an insidious monster... summoned by word that is usually meant to summon comfort or express hapiness.

Another dark hypothesis is that unlike most parents, Noel's parents might have deserved to suffer their fate. Noel might be used to dissociation because of abuse even before the nightmare came into the picture. If that is true, how well-adjusted he is right now is a miracle.
