Pre-last panel: "Silence is golden"

They are only vulnerable to Burk
27065: Jake - Thursday, August 5 2021 - 2:09 AM
Man, these heroes sucks.
The hero from the first chapter beat the bandit boss and his armoured pig no problem, but these ones can't even scratch a pig?
27066: Straightbackward - Thursday, August 5 2021 - 3:25 AM
Pig > Gold
This begs the question. Gold > Steel or Steel > Gold?
27067: DJenky - Thursday, August 5 2021 - 4:11 AM
These terribly hilarious puns brought to you by a random Whim
27068: White Valyrian - Thursday, August 5 2021 - 5:07 AM
Oh that was a gold mallet i thought it was a spirit weapon or something. Thanks for the page neorice.

So they're not magical. Fun. Though gold is typically soft, but I assume that the hammer is just gold plated, instead of being made of gold. Which would actually make it's apparent deformation in the final panel even more impressive. Particularly if the hammer is actually deformed.

Steel generally beats gold in RL
Gold beats magic in-comic
Magic beats steel in-comic
These boars have so far demonstrated the ability to resist all three of steel, gold and magic; but one of them was defeated by a hard fall onto solid ground. Perhaps that is a specific weakness?
27071: Ahno Neemus - Thursday, August 5 2021 - 6:02 AM
the pigs' abilities are (presumably) magical in origin, but the effects themselves are not magical. hence, no weakness to gold. I may wrong about something.
27072: Lurker - Thursday, August 5 2021 - 6:08 AM
Wait, the weapon is actually gold? Is gold supposed to be anti-magic or something? It's normally too soft to be used as a weapon.
27073: Fluffynator - Thursday, August 5 2021 - 7:49 AM
Just wait for Burk to fucking kick them into the sky like they are team rocket.

@Jake
It’s more that Logan Alexander was a pretty strong hero, given that he’s apparently famous in two nations.
Most of these guys, on the other hand, seem like they’re only about as strong as the Aristocrat.
27075: Lozhul Caller - Thursday, August 5 2021 - 8:22 AM
Forgive me if i'm wrong, but gold is good against magic correct? which indicates that the pigs are not magical?

Magic>Steel>Gold>Magic

Presumably, they are also immune to Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters too. Very powerful pigs aren't they.
27078: Anthony - Thursday, August 5 2021 - 9:56 AM
I wonder what the Global Order would think of the pigs. They seem to do creepy biologicals that aren't technically magic.
27079: Paintr - Thursday, August 5 2021 - 6:12 PM
They could just be of some sort of alchemical nature. Indirectly magic, or to say, made by magic warping nature into a stable state.
Why am I getting the distinct feeling that these altered pigs are part of some seriously wild experiments?
27081: Jack - Thursday, August 5 2021 - 11:44 PM
@Lozhul
Gold is immune to magic but it does not cancel it. The magic that makes these pigs bigger and tougher wouldn't be undone by being hit with gold.
See page 1780
I'm fairly certain these pigs are magic because all the way back it the first chapter they reverted to tiny pigs when rendered unconscious which indicates some sort of transformation magic.
