Do not trust those who can see.

Fair enough.

26173: first - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 12:22 AM

Oh no, paladins are now tobi's enemies.

26174: A - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 12:31 AM

So... does this mean he can restrict Infinite from using his power to kill her? (Not that Infinite wants to, but... i mean in theory.)

Also: Unbound? Were those mentioned anywhere else in the comic?
Or is she supposed to just randomly encounter one floating around while she has the blue eyes activated. Because that doesn't sound like much of a plan.

26175: szmol - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 12:40 AM

Is this what the glasses guy was talking to Noah about? Is the spirit trying to manipulate Tobi?

26177: tracer - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 1:34 AM

Just like red eyeglasses warned :)

26178: Anthony - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 1:42 AM

Whereas creepy bound spirits are clearly totally trustworthy.

26179: noname - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 2:09 AM

"Only those unbound can truly guide you"? In other words, only those who are unchained? But didn't glasses-guy in Noah's arc (can't recall his name atm) say that those who have spirits and have given them free reign have never ended up for the better? ...Actually, now that I think about it, does this mean that glasses-guy has the same Sight ability as Shalia?

26180: Storm - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 2:45 AM

Huh, sounds like that chained-spirit's suggesting that Tobi might be a villain..?

Given warnings about how chained-spirits seem to mislead/manipulate people into havoc, it wouldn't be too alarming as the chained-spirit could be expected to say such seemingly-misleading things. But the various things surrounding Tobi and this notion of her being a "king" seem to lend some credibility to the idea that there might be something more going on.

26181: Tom - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 2:56 AM

Hol' up a minute.

The creature is called "Chained Spirit of Pandemonium".

Is this connected to Pandemonium magic, or is it possibly a coincidence?

26182: baronluke - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 3:17 AM

hey so... a couple of important questions. Has toby ever "scanned" Three?
If not, is an unbound inside of them?
Could Toby Actually talk to three, via scan, and have any clue what's happening?

26183: Brilliand - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 3:59 AM

@A I'm betting the the Unbound are something easier to detect, like the Ghouls for example.

@Tom Definitely connected to Pandemonium magic, considering that Infinite's magic is in fact a Pandemonium power. Bound creatures like this would explain why Pandemonium magic is so specific in its effects, rather than doing "whatever the user wants" like Spirit and Free magic do.

26184: TheMegax - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 4:25 AM

Given the Ghouls tendency to call Tobi "my king" and their monstrous appearance, I'll bet they are some of the unbound.

26185: Some guy - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 4:35 AM

@Storm
Based on her actions so far, villain seems unlikely. She's not exactly done anything to harm anybody, at least not on purpose.

It certainly suggests that her nature is even more unusual than we've been led to believe so far.

26186: Deliverance - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 4:42 AM

@Storm The notion of Tobi being a "king"? Thought that was confirmed long ago in her naming. ;-)

Say it out loud: Tobi B. King.

@noname
Glasses might by lying, be ignorant, know only part of the story, only know of bad examples because failures stand out where success does not, or, for that matter, it might simply be a matter of perspective.

26187: TheMegax - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 6:40 AM

@baronluke
She hasn't, but I'm assuming that Three's speech is complete gibberish as Tobi is able to translate and speak Lorg's language without any trouble.

@Deliverance
The spirit's reaction towards Tobi is really, really odd. Glasses might not be lying, he just hasn't found any positive examples ever. Tobi is an outlier.

26188: Deliverance - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 7:18 AM

@TheMegax Sure; I didn't claim glasses was lying; I listed him lying as one possibility along with several other possibilities to be considered, most of which are compatible with your alternative suggestion.

26189: MJBarr - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 8:25 AM

It is my choice to believe that this entire time, Infinite has been having a conversation with himself about how amazing he is with all of his clone bodies.

(And occasionally, telling Bixly to do something.)

26190: Datren - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 9:32 AM

One thing to keep in mind is that Tobi's big goal right now is to find a way home. And I get the feeling that the "greater purpose" this spirit mentions has anything to do with that.

26191: Seb - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 10:57 AM

Now I'm wondering if the choice of word for pandemonium power was by accident (the word is a synonym to chaos after all, which fits) or if it's part of a knowledge of those pandemonium beasts

That's a cool link between them. Also, Burk having power without magic is even more relevant. Some magic users have pandemonium beast bounded to them, some don't, some rare have power without even magic.

Shakira has the sight, which might be magic or something else, another power that's not magic, but guy in the glasses seemed to think it was magic

That's exciting

26192: Fennett - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 3:00 PM

@Seb Reading your comment made me remember the actual literal meaning of "pandemonium" is "all (evil) spirits" (sometimes translated as "demons" instead of "evil spirits")
So yeah, I don't think I fully trust the spirit yet

26193: anon - Sunday, June 13 2021 - 7:47 PM

But... Tobi can see. Is Tobi her own enemy? Is this a Highlander situation among those who can see?

26208: The_Squished_Elf - Tuesday, June 15 2021 - 12:48 AM

@Seb - I know itā€™s autocorrect but I canā€™t unsee her acting like a pop star. Itā€™s so antithetical to her entire character

26224: Sandman366 - Wednesday, June 16 2021 - 11:05 PM

I thought the idea was that Tobi was from some kind of game world, and everything here is the "real world"...

...and I don't expect it to be the case, but wouldn't it be interesting/crazy if it were the other way around?
