Something in common.

Yeah you're both NERDS.

23174: A - Monday, August 17 2020 - 12:15 AM

Lol they are both smart.

23175: Saiko - Monday, August 17 2020 - 12:49 AM

The blackmailing will commence in 3, 2, 1...

23176: A - Monday, August 17 2020 - 2:04 AM

Personally hoping we avoid the blackmail angle. (team-up instead?)

That leading question could just as easily be "fishing for a possible ally" as it could be "lead-up to blackmail", though.

The kid is smart... would blackmailing Noah actually help him here?
True, there's an escape attempt in-progress, and Noah is the only one who knows... hmm... maybe it will be blackmail after all.

"Pfft, that's obvious! It's because... uh... excuse me, I have to chase after that cat now."

23178: Bisected - Monday, August 17 2020 - 2:53 AM

He's gotcha there.

23179: Chris E. - Monday, August 17 2020 - 3:14 AM

Actually, maybe the aim of this conversation is just to distract Noah from following the cat.

23180: The_Squished_Elf - Monday, August 17 2020 - 5:33 AM

It's a shame Noah has no social skill, because there's many ways out of this little trap
Glasses has laid.

23181: 5 - Monday, August 17 2020 - 6:57 AM

@The_Squished_Elf What are the ways out ? I'm not good at this.

23182: EstherTb - Monday, August 17 2020 - 7:05 AM

Yeah Why HASNT he told them about Ceil

23183: Whimbrel - Monday, August 17 2020 - 7:31 AM

Noah, let's get this straight. I see you as an enemy soldier. But also...a friend???

(100% down for this btw)

23184: Woodledude - Monday, August 17 2020 - 11:14 AM

Glasses Dude is 100% *both* fishing for an ally and distracting Noah from following the cat, which would inevitably lead him back to Malhart. Calling it now.

23185: Brilliand - Monday, August 17 2020 - 11:45 AM

Noah isn't really in this for the Empire's benefit, he's just trying to take care of himself. (And that's a perfectly safe thing to say to glasses guy.)

23186: The_Squished_Elf - Monday, August 17 2020 - 1:47 PM

@5 For one, call his bluff and make sure it’s Eloy who handles this. Eloy already knows something’s up with “Windows” and kinda doesn’t care.

Also, outright lie and say that he simply didn’t want his compatriots to know, his commanders already know. Noah misstepped and got caught off guard by the royal guard question, he wasn’t scared at all!
Not to mention, who’s going to listen to a prisoner...

There’s less confrontational ways as well but I gotta get stuff done.

23187: Pablo360 - Monday, August 17 2020 - 4:02 PM

Oh-ho-ho, this is a conversation that Noah's been blundering into ass-backwards for a *long* time. It doesn't even matter what GD's motive is; Noah's gonna have to confront the growing paradox of his existence sooner rather than later now, if for no other reason than it's no longer possible for him to deny it.

23188: ThePixelHelix - Monday, August 17 2020 - 11:03 PM

@The_Squished_Elf whats with the weird text rendering bugs every time you use an apostrophe?
ive seen it happen before on this site but not elsewhere. heres one to test it '

The reason is that if the Empire knew about Noah's hyper-analytic spirit that notices every single little detail that Noah perceives without being conscious of them; they'd volunteer him for more work. With that spirit working for him, Noah is basically Sherlock Holmes.

As far as Noah is concerned, the less of his powers the Empire knows of (and Ciel counts as a power), the less work they'll ask of him.
