Chapter 51: Dead End.

Burk ideas are the best ideas.

This comic is nothing but a series of cliffhangers.

This formula is getting *REALLY* old and it makes me lose interest, tbh.

Burk's idea: "Let's start a fight!"

20803: UnknownID - Wednesday, October 9 2019 - 11:21 AM

Can't wait to hear what Burk is planning! :D

20804: Kobrag - Wednesday, October 9 2019 - 1:37 PM

Love your comic, can;t stop coming back for more!

20805: random - Wednesday, October 9 2019 - 2:07 PM

Judging by that peek of the toplist, our cleverboy hero has fallen off the 4th place, and by a lot... Or maybe those top ranks are head to head and always changing?

Also, as neo said, Burk's ideas are the best ideas! :D Can't wait!

@Fuz

Hm, I think it's fine with a rotation of three stories.
I agree, the first panel after a change is a little bit jarring, but 2-3 panels into the new arc, I'm caught again.

He'll fight them all, won't he?

The best way to meet a hero is to be the villain, that way they come to you.

And when Burk has an idea, that can only mean one thing: We are going to learn of yet another way that you can advance the plot by sacrificing a perfectly good pair of pants.

Its not always cliffhangers, most of the scene changes are equivalent about to that you'd see in a book.
In fact, there really aren't even very many transitions that happen without there having been completion of a segment in between. Some end with a bit of information about what the next segment will be, but this is steadily updating comic.
Maybe reread the older segments to see how the flow works when its all together, you might enjoy that more?

@random: What? No, nothing changed on the scoreboard. Even the top3 scores didn't budge. I was disappointed noticing that, as some time has certainly passed.

@GreenDread

Yes, same for me, but at the same time I forget what was going around in the other arcs. Also, it's getting annoying to get hung up on a big, juicy cliffhanger ALL THE TIME.

@Fuz

I think the "cliffhangers" are mostly a side effect of the three-story structure. I generally try to swap characters after a chapter has concluded.

A chapter generally consists of two elements:
1. a consistent viewpoint character.
2. A story element getting resolved, while simultaneously setting up the next chapter; in a regular story without any major shifts like HoH that second part would feel totally natural, but due to the radical changes in story "setting up the next chapter" tends to turn into something that feels like a massive cliffhanger.

It usually isn't my intention to tease, but I'm also not interested in building chapters that leave zero expectations for what comes next ,as I feel that'd be even more jarring than a more cliffhanger-style chapter resolution.

Hey, if nothing else, Burk's ideas tend to get results.
