The legend of Felix: Part 4

... Well good job Felix! Welcome to double digits.

15021: Jack - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 1:34 AM

Sorry, I stand corrected. That's a death glare.

15022: Whispers of Sorrow - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 1:45 AM

Well there's no point to this lesson then, they may as well all go home.

I despise Lady Vader, any ally of the villainous Felix is an enemy of humanity itself as far as I'm concerned.

15023: BlazeCell - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 2:01 AM

Is Garth mumbling gibberish in panel 3? or is that supposed to be somewhat intelligible?

15024: Atlas - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 2:30 AM

@Whispers I concur, dat bitch is evil ya ear

15025: Brilliand - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 2:35 AM

He should have put up more of an argument. He IS hired to be an expert, after all.

15026: Anesthetic - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 2:47 AM

Does Felix have Aspergers or something? Can he not read facial expressions?

He should be not be this happy right now.

15027: giovanni - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 3:55 AM

this is a hilarious death glare

15028: Daran - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 4:09 AM

I'm starting to think that when they reached enough points, they are deemed as being trained enough in basics. Meaning, they have to go into combat etc. And Garth probably gives low points for unprepared people like Felix, because he does not want them to face this unless they are really ready.

So Mrs. Veda probably wants them to reach the point threshold fast, since she is pressuring on "in 1 week". While Garth says they are not ready. Good guy Garth?

15029: Anonymous Person - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 4:12 AM

Oh, I see. He said "A bunch more."

15030: Tor - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 5:26 AM

Thats a really interesting theory Daran, it its the case then i guess it makes Garth a lot nice than he actually seems.

Its just a shame that he is such a awful teacher. He knows a lot about his subject. And he might actually care about his pupils.

The problem is that he sucks at motivating people. Felix is a prime example. He very clearly craves attention, or more likely some sort of recognition.

And had Garth been more like "yeah your power is awesome, we will work on how to use it after you are done mastering spirit" then he would likely have been more motivated.

15031: Probored - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 5:40 AM

Oh I really like @Daran's hypothesis, though it seems a rather crude method for combat training.

In the back of my mind, not sure why, I keep thinking that while this current arc is all fun and games and Felixfuckery. Something bad and sinister is going to happen, like one of the kids getting executed for not obtaining the required number of points or something.

I really hope thats not the case though! Points are awarded based on proficiency in spirit (according to Garth's way of teaching, not Veda) instead of competence which is why someone like Noah is ranking so high. Veda however seems less focused on making the kids attain spirit proficiency and more on focusing on their strengths.

Someone like Nathalie, who has an undiscovered Pandae power has been taken out of Garth's group. Might she have a Pandae power thats essentially really powerful for combat and has been moved to the cool kids magic powers group where Ray, Mr. Kimberly, Alex etc are?
They all either excel at combat or have a high potential for it, so my current guess is that Nathalie is getting moved.

Anyways, that's just my two cents on this page. Beautiful and hilarious expressions from Garth

Considering the pain I expect Felix to be put through once she’s gone, I don’t think those points are worth it.

15034: Tom - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 8:51 AM

Garth is stuck between a Felix and a hard Veda, and his expressions are HILARIOUS.

15036: Pete - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 9:13 AM

@BlazeCell ABUNCHMORE

15037: Willreaper - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 9:19 AM

RIP Felix

You were too dumb for this world...

15038: Saiko - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 10:25 AM

Garth opposes too little, or not at all. If he doesn't want to get into argument with Veda before the kids, he could say something that would delay point assignment, that they will discuss that later. By the look of his death glare in the last two panels, he will discuss it later... with Felix.

As for Veda, this strip only reinforces my hypothesis that she wants the project to fail, ultimately, one way or another.

15039: Saiko - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 10:33 AM

Also - Noah is cute with his "I don't want to be here" pose, and Gazz is a snitch.

15040: Silver - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 5:28 PM

This is my favourite page.

15041: Whispers of Sorrow - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 8:50 PM

There is one other possible reason why Vader might be doing this. She may still believe that Noah can teleport (and would cross the river that way if encouraged). He can't, but that doesn't mean she won't test and test again until she finds out how he escaped the pod.

@Saiko: Yeah, I'm thoroughly unimpressed by Gazz's newfound status as a grass.

15042: Bisected - Tuesday, November 28 2017 - 11:16 PM

He seems happy.

15051: 0Anesthetic4u - Wednesday, November 29 2017 - 3:27 AM

Wait. Are people just figuring out now that they are being trained for combat?

Seriously?

I had not realized that that wasn't abundantly clear.

15056: Whispers of Sorrow - Wednesday, November 29 2017 - 10:45 AM

@0Anesthetic4u: Of course we all knew that they are being trained as soldiers. We just weren't expecting Vader to be planning to throw their lives away after less than a fortnights training.

15468: Thisguy - Wednesday, December 27 2017 - 4:44 PM

Success by WITNESSED technicality.
