@verycoolname. Indeed Burk said punch (or beat up, I don't remember exactly) But that statement wouldn't make any sense to the Judge. So he reasoned what he thought Burk's meaning was. The Judge's mistake was that he assumed that Burk was an entirely sensible person with with a reasonable grasp of reality.
