Match point.

I think the best part about this page is that a whole bunch of comments on the last page predicted this exact outcome.

I hope you guys enjoyed the bonus updates! We return monday as usual. :3

maiby just by having a stronger magical power he made him miss or something

11995: RandomLurker - Friday, February 24 2017 - 1:54 AM

I figured Felix would do that, but I thought the outcome would be slightly different.

Basically that Felix would be dumb enough that he'd knock himself out, but that Garth would be upset enough with Noah's lack of effort that rather than let him pass, he'd make a second hole and put both of them in one.

Seemed like the most appropriate outcome to a battle of the worst to me. ;)

i hope felix gets somewhat rehabilitated later on, i liked him before he was like a slapstick goon. mayb necessary in order to take his ego down a few notches

11998: Silver - Friday, February 24 2017 - 3:19 AM

Yay, Noah!

Always appreciate the bonus updates, neo. Made my week :D

Also made Felix's week substantially worse. You know, every time I heard the name Felix, Golden Sun's Felix always came to my mind. Now I think of it as a synonym for "oblivious gloating loser". So you've ruined that for me thank you very much >:(

Hey, me again :P.
To clarify my internet connection messed up and I saw my comment under the name RandomLurker, or something!

Sorry, real RandomLurker. You actually exist.

Don't wanna steal your comment :P

12005: Josh - Friday, February 24 2017 - 7:51 AM

Noah's nickname is Mirrors not Windows. Did you mean Mirrors in the last panel?

12006: Neoriceisgood - Friday, February 24 2017 - 7:55 AM

@Josh

Actually ... the panel where I used mirrors is the mistake. ^^;

Garth gave him the nickname windows after Noah talked to his own reflection in a window.

http://neorice.com/hoh_685

Will fix that together with some other typos when I get to it.

12007: Jolt99 - Friday, February 24 2017 - 9:16 AM

Seeing how Noah seems to be surprised at the result, I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that Ciel manifested in Felix's glasses, causing the ball to be attracted to them and come back and smack him in the face.

12008: Whispers of Sorrow - Friday, February 24 2017 - 10:45 AM

So... how did Noah do it? I have two thoughts.

The first is that Noah was masking his spirit, to the extent that the ball saw nothing and was drawn instead to the glowing power of Felix.

The second is that Ciel was able to interact with the ball, which is the first spirit object Noah's encountered. She may even be an advanced spirit power he's wished himself.

12009: SomeUnregPunk - Friday, February 24 2017 - 10:45 AM

I agree with Jolt99 as it's kinda proved by the author and the teacher acknowledging that Windows did something.

12010: Ava - Friday, February 24 2017 - 1:00 PM

This arc is suuuuuuuper boring and pointless and the characters are the least interesting ones of the whole serie.
And Burk's arc was becoming so interesting :(

12011: Jack Morgan - Friday, February 24 2017 - 1:16 PM

@Ava

I disagree. This arc has been subtle, sure, but it's a built and shown a lot about the people in Noah's arc that we'll most likely be seeing later.

If every arc was about giant Burk level fights, it'd get really old really fast. Noah's story is fun to speculate on and just look on as it unfolds.

12012: RandomLurker - Friday, February 24 2017 - 3:28 PM

@Silver That's alright.

The reason I thought it'd end that way was that I figured one way or another, Noah was going to get put in a hole himself and have it sealed off, then the next time we see Noah, he uses his powers to get out, which then triggers something which would advance the plot, as his shenanigans get caught. Or at least raise some suspicion.

Neo might have something else in mind of course, but it just seemed like the most logical approach to me, because if he plays things low key all the time like he has, then there's not really any plot advancement. And they're already suspicious about how he can get places where he shouldn't physically be able to get. Something has to happen to progress things along.

Of course, there would be other ways to do it as well, but it just seemed a rather Noah way to go about it to me. But to be honest, things are short form enough that it's not too difficult to make bad assumptions about a character's general attitudes and motivations.

12013: someone - Friday, February 24 2017 - 4:03 PM

New banner is promising. I note the verb chosen is "attempts", not "succeeds".

Garth sucks as a teacher.

12014: Some Guy Who Likes This Webcomic - Friday, February 24 2017 - 4:22 PM

In the beginning of the ark the Magiball bounced off of Noah when it was established it was extremely heavy...
was Ciel protecting him or was he unknowingly using some form of "natural" spirit?

Also in the third panel as he wasn't actively using spirit was the magiball drawn to Felix after he threw it or was Ciel drawing the ball to Felix/moving it away from Noah?

this is just what i personally think this might be i could be wrong.
All i know is im looking forward to Felix being thrown in the hole

12015: LupenTheWolf - Friday, February 24 2017 - 5:08 PM

So... Felix hit himself with the ball by being the only source of active spirit nearby for it to home in on? Eh, until I'm proven wrong I'm going to choose to believe that as the most amusing explanation.

12016: nitro - Friday, February 24 2017 - 9:52 PM

@Sorrow
Im going for the llater, Noah still hasent explored much of his power or grown. That the ball went back to Felix because noah masked his too well is more likely to me

12017: burkfan - Saturday, February 25 2017 - 3:27 AM

another event, nice, thanks neorice

12018: Kath - Saturday, February 25 2017 - 11:03 AM

Thank you again for the bonus updates, and the more to come, I'd have to say this is my fave arc!

12019: someone - Saturday, February 25 2017 - 3:33 PM

Garth is awful at teaching, but competent at magic. If he says Windows is the one who made Felix miss, then Noah did *something*. Just like Natalie previously did something that got her disqualified.

12020: nobody - Saturday, February 25 2017 - 8:51 PM

If Hevel's wrong, this must be not good. Not good at all.

12021: Scarred Wrable - Saturday, February 25 2017 - 10:35 PM

Thanks for the shout out nerorice and thanks for the bonus updates , also I enjoy the implications that Noah is actually powerful just not in a conventional way

12022: orangetree - Sunday, February 26 2017 - 12:16 AM

I just want to point out that the ball didn't hone in on and hit Felix when Felix tried to hit Noah the first time, so logic stands that Noah somehow interfered with the ball so that it hit Felix this time.

12023: jemm - Sunday, February 26 2017 - 1:21 PM

Did Noah teleport the ball while keeping its momentum? 'Cause the speed lines indicate that something happened to the ball after it brushed Noah. Did physically contacting the ball cause this or something else to happen. Can Noah manipulate objects by thinking of something when he makes physical contact? We know he did something so the speed lines may not indicate a change in direction unless that's what Noah did to the ball. Monday can't come fast or slow enough (school is my only caveat for not wanting Mondays)
