Love the speech bubbles and the aura around the, ah, creature.
Also, I noticed the subtle change on the elf's comment on panel 4 from the original. I wonder if it's that significant?

It looks like Veda to me, but then again it could be someone who can wear a different shape for a time, or Veda's twin, or Veda's clone... there are a lot of options here.
Personally though, I think it is Veda

The old comic doesn't really have anything to hint at that comment. I remove/disallow any comment I'd consider an outright spoiler based on aptGG information.
Assume anything people are allowed to post is unverified speculation.

I think this is one of my favorite comics in this story. The darkness and solitude of the protagonist, ominous words from a dying enemy and appearance of someone who looks familiar and sinister. The atmosphere of this one is awesome.
