Pretty daft.

I for one, always believed in Mr.Kimberly.

TFW you're the only Millenial in a room full of Zoomers.

That's a fair argument, actually... In fact, it's almost kinda weird of the empire to want these kids alive, considering they've already betrayed the empire once before... Maybe they quite simply didn't expect Noah and his friends to be able/willing to actually kill other people? Or maybe they want these traitor kids publically executed as an example to other magic users not to betray the empire? Maybe these traitor kids aren't traitors at all?! Dun, Dun, DUN!

I mean that's assuming that IS why they want Malhart's kids. They COULD want them to... IDK, puree them so they can remove the magic and use it as treatments to artificially give powers to their own citizens.

Really, I just presumed they wanted Malhart's kids to try to draw out Malhart and take another shot at killing him so they could better maintain control over this city. Afterwards, what they did could be anything, killing them, controlling them, etc.

I am with noname. It seems pretty straight-forward that The Empire wants these kids as a motivation for their magical soldiers to have blind loyalty to The Empire... by horrifically killing them in public to adoring crowds. That sort of spectacle always raises the loyalty stat!

Just because someone can have occasional flashes of insight doesn't mean they're typically that sharp, Noah.

I still think the plan is to kill Malhart by drawing him out with his kids as bait. But likely Kimberly knows better than us whereever the empire wants to kill or capture the kids.

Initially i suspected him of being an infiltrator send by Malhart though :)

Burk timee! Maybe will go ahead and follow Evyle's perspective? Could be fun.

And I agree with noname, slaughtering poor magic users to make sure other mages see what awaits them if they rebel.

But it might as well be the latter, where they're not traitors at all. The empire treats this more as a field test, rather than an actual mission. Which is like, bizarre i guess? I just think Malhart's kiddies are already part of the magic school, just testing the newbies to see if they're worthy.

I mean a group of kids arent on their mission; rex, reynalde and the other girl, probably more even. I think they've went on this mission already and are in the magic school because they succeeded in some way. Either way, this should be interesting.

Public execution would strike me as mostly pointless.
The empire's anti-magic stance is already well-known, so it wouldn't achieve much except maybe convince magic-users to hide better.

It definitely won't make them any more loyal than they already aren't.

Hey, just a heads up you have a typo in the first panel. "worry" takes 2 "r".

21197: UnknownID - Thursday, January 16 2020 - 11:22 AM

Maybe they want to receive some information from the kids before getting rid of them? o.o

I like Mr.Kimberly, it's good to have a responsible adult around, as an antidote to the misdeeds of Ensign Fake Smiles.

As for encouragement executions... they have Princess for that sadly.
