Happy New Year! 2020!

Happy New Year Everybody!

21131: Tssha - Wednesday, January 1 2020 - 5:31 AM

Today, on Horrendously Horrible Bosses...

21132: Bailoroc - Wednesday, January 1 2020 - 8:24 AM

I'm very proud of Noah for standing up for Jamal like that.

To be fair, the empire's magical training was horrendously rushed. I'd argue that they just sent people who haven't finished basic to go against people with years of experience in guerilla operations...and are doing it in their home turf.

Happy new year!

I bet Noah's new year's resolution is to solve his mirror problem before he forgets what he looks like.

21135: Datren - Wednesday, January 1 2020 - 12:18 PM

Yes, please make Malhart's argument for defecting to him for him.

21136: Lemon Wolf - Wednesday, January 1 2020 - 12:45 PM

She's practically a professor of umbrage.

21137: UnknownID - Wednesday, January 1 2020 - 2:21 PM

Seems like it would have been better for them to stick with Malhart's gang o.o

Happy New Year!

It most likely means that a faction in the empire just wants the magic users to die. So the empire gives them funding for their own plan.

21139: Violet - Wednesday, January 1 2020 - 4:32 PM

They basically played a bunch of games and then went into battle. Not the best way of handling this.

21140: Exasperation - Wednesday, January 1 2020 - 6:22 PM

I, too, am concerned about Noah's apparent lack of injuries, given that Noah got decked hard enough to be bleeding at one point.

21141: Nitrotetrazole - Wednesday, January 1 2020 - 9:25 PM

So lets see.
#1: The government-funded training was honestly shit
#2: she's talking without even knowing the opposition had more motivated soldiers, with better comprehension of their abilities or how to best use them.
#3: She's being a completly bitch to kids fresh out of a crappy training and talking like theyre battle-hardened veteran.

Jeez, no f***ing wonder kids flee to malhart

21142: Doflamingo - Thursday, January 2 2020 - 12:34 PM

Golly lord, what is this,Goverment issues...that´s what i was talking about.

Call me a bit superficial and biased, but until now I'd have reservations about defecting to a person named "Malhart," for roughly the same reason I'd try to avoid a place called "Slaughterville"... Now, however? I'd have WAY less reservations. I mean, I basically just plain have less against people whose names give me bad vibes, than I have against people who practically shower me with the bad vibes I'd expect coming from a guy named "Malhart."

Hmm... I wonder if this is secretly some altrusitic attempt by this bitchy bitch here to alienate youths and get them to defect to Malhart so that they, as magic users, may be safer with him than they'd be if they remained with the empire? ...I also wonder if I may be WAY too lenient with this bitch than I should be...

21148: Mousio - Friday, January 3 2020 - 11:31 AM

@Bailoroc yeah. Where can I find a one of my own :)

21161: Greenwood - Tuesday, January 7 2020 - 1:20 PM

While it might seem obvious to join Malhart over the Empire because of the risk of assasination and all (which is a pretty good incentive), I'd say there's an argument for staying with the Empire as a magic user soldier. Although magic is illegal in the Empire, there have been signs that the country is on the cusp of social change (i.e. Noah getting a lift from a sympathetic college student and Alex's reference to kids their own age befriending magic users in secret). If Noah and friends were to abandon the Empire and join Malhart they'd be safer, but they'd miss out on an opportunity to change the country they live in. By serving as soldiers and effectively saving the Empire from a foreign threat, the children would potentially act as a catalyst for magic users all over the Empire being accepted (or at least not executed). Even if they joined Malhart after all, they'd still be living in the same Empire.

Or they could just hop over to the Mage Barony of course, but where's the fun in that? XD
