Take it to my Hero Lawyer.

"Who generally hates it when I do things like this."

Please no cliffhangers now. I'm waiting for a serious Burk fight since he fell from the sky.

Sword guy seems a lot nicer - still in a tough love kind of way - on this page than on http://neorice.com/hoh_1368. I wonder if it is because he is on stage or if he just respects Shaders more than tourists. He certainly seems to respect Shaders more than Goldman.

Fight! Fight! Fight!

Honestly, from the setup, this was kind of inevitable. It's when it comes out of nowhere that it's annoying.

...Unless you're about to scene change to a different character's arc (that is, to Noah or Tobi). That happening in what seems like the middle of an arc is quite annoying. It's relatively acceptable if you just scene change to the Diplomat, but that would be annoying, too, now that we have the promise of seeing Burk Spar.

The gloves are off!

Burk: "Yare yare da ze."

Seriously though, Burk looks a bit concerned. Is he worried about what Pablo will say about all of this, or is he actually worried about Goldman's ability? Or could it possibly be that his plan did not work out quite as he had intended?! Perish the thought!

22505: UnknownID - Friday, July 3 2020 - 8:12 AM

It's fate Burk, you cannot avoid it and Pablo might be mad, but I guess he'll forgive you :)

I dont think this fight will happen. Its a hero trial. He can either rationalize an excuse to do the battle, or go back on his word to his buddy. This is the choice that shows what kind of hero Burk intends to be.

I'm really hoping we're going to see the return of "Nope" in full on Burk fashion.
Besides, Goldman looks like the sort of prick that really needs a couple of teeth removed.
VERY rarely that can even teach people like him a lesson.

And here Burk weighs his options. He loses nothing if he loses the fight- he knew what he was wagering. But if he fights- and wins, because he will win any fight he enters- he then has to explain to Pablo, who he considers a friend but knows to be annoyed by his usual style. The question is mostly one of whether Burk believes Pablo will forgive him fighting because a) it's a boxing ring and intended for the purpose, and b) he talked Goldman into giving him the information their party has been seeking all week.

come on, burk, tell him that your buddy is a livarian diplomat and going against his wishes would be like an insult against his country or whatever. maybe he cares about relations in heroland for some arbitrary reason.

22510: Nitrotetrazole - Friday, July 3 2020 - 2:48 PM

@noname

He's worried about his promise to Pablo. Burk has, even in his toughest challenges so far, never really worried over things much. Also given his very very first fight against the first hero of the comic, he visibly knows a LOT more on magic than anyone gives him credits for, including us

I think it was more the entire Pirate of Storm Showdown that showed Burk had been playing silly. Thats the first time he got really serious.

Here Burk clearly is more distressed by the problem with his promise.
