Surprisingly easy.

That's what Burk would say.

Actually, no. He'd probably say something like "I have already beat this in my mind."

Or talk about something unrelated, like needing to use the toilet.

Unlike Noah, Noah'd just trip and die.

Tobi. You never never never say something is easy. Doing so only makes it certain things will get impossibly tough.

9635: Rando - Wednesday, July 6 2016 - 2:45 AM

You have no idea how glad i am something finally went right for Tobi.

9636: Brilliand - Wednesday, July 6 2016 - 3:15 AM

Now for the big question: Did she see which rope goes with which buzzsaw?

9637: someone - Wednesday, July 6 2016 - 3:47 AM

So, based on the previous comic, Tobi's ability to instantly guess how to beat I Wanna Be The Guy isn't magic. But it's not either a Batman-esque intense training and carefully honed instincts, because there's the whole thing where her eyes (and speech balloons) glow blue, which doesn't exactly seem like a natural phenomenon.

They left the developers' notes in the final version? That seems a little sloppy.

9639: Franz - Wednesday, July 6 2016 - 5:20 AM

Burk would say he can do it even without his pants. Well he doesn't have them anyways!

9640: giovanni - Wednesday, July 6 2016 - 5:26 AM

years of training in a dungeon makes her a specialist

9641: Silly Name - Wednesday, July 6 2016 - 5:29 AM

What is MORE interesting is that this ability of hers carried over from the virtual world.

Tobi might not be a normal human.

9642: itblobboy - Wednesday, July 6 2016 - 5:57 AM

Hah, love your comment today Neo.

Too bad Tobi is being taped and they'll say her blue eye trick was magic and therefore violates the rules.

I wish I could read what the scan ability thing says on the 4th panel.

9643: addyk2003 - Wednesday, July 6 2016 - 7:41 AM

I like the hacker feel that's over Tobi in this “world”. :D

9644: nobody - Wednesday, July 6 2016 - 7:49 AM

But how would it violate the rules? She's been given something that prevents magic. If it was magic, it wouldn't work. Therefore, not magic. Also, can they be sure that the blue eye thing really did anything besides make her eyes blue?

9645: verycoolname - Wednesday, July 6 2016 - 8:49 AM

It might be that the claim that the pendant blocked magic was a lie and the crystal has a more ...sinister purpose.

9646: Neoriceisgood - Wednesday, July 6 2016 - 9:29 AM

@Verycoolname

I'm not excluding sinister purposes entirely, but the pendant does block most known magic.

E.g. if Noah, felix, gazz etc had worn it their powers would be cancelled out.

9647: random - Wednesday, July 6 2016 - 10:18 AM

@Neo, so does this mean that there are plenty of "supernatural" phenomenons / abilities in this world, that do not technically categorize under "magic" even if they produce similar results? If so, are (most) people (or at least some of them) aware of this fact, or do the common people does the "not normal = must be magic" equation? I assume the latter which could easily lead to conflicts between NMCs (Non Main Characters) and our protagonists (or even among NMCs as a backstory/event).

9648: Neoriceisgood - Wednesday, July 6 2016 - 10:59 AM

@Random

You're right that most people will assume "not normal(natural to this world) = magic".

9649: Tom - Wednesday, July 6 2016 - 11:39 AM

Oh wow this comic. This is why this page is great:

1 - Showcases Tobi's OP as hell power (which we shall temporarily call "mad hax").

2 - When taking into consideration the previous strip, this raises a huge question: if the crystal blocks magic, and Tobi can use her "mad hax", then what is the nature of her power?

3 - Neo's commentary. So on point.

9650: Jack Morgan - Wednesday, July 6 2016 - 12:25 PM

I think that even if they did catch on to Tobi's eye tricks, they probably wouldn't care. For reference, the announcer treated 3's run as completely normal, despite him quite obviously not being a normal, mortal human.

Also, we don't really know if they'd even be able to see her blue eyes. The comic zoomed in on her, but in character, it's quite possible that it wouldn't have been so easy to see on TV.

9651: someone - Wednesday, July 6 2016 - 1:39 PM

When you have a setting in which magic is real and sufficiently predictable that people can categorize it and create magic-blocking items, then magic is pretty much a natural part of the world.

9652: Bisected - Thursday, July 7 2016 - 1:28 AM

So if Tobi's cheating, does that make her a...scan artist!?

9653: random - Thursday, July 7 2016 - 10:44 AM

@Bisected

They even gave her a black crystal to make sure she is not scan-tily clad!

9654: Neoriceisgood - Thursday, July 7 2016 - 12:31 PM

@Random

You are reaching.

9657: addyk2003 - Friday, July 8 2016 - 3:10 AM

Tobi's not using magic, is she, though. She's a great inventor, and has awesome tools her grandpa gave her :D

I was gonna say something inappropriate.
