If the ghoul is here too early, then occams razor means theyre here way later than they thought. Which means they were knocked out from a few hours to several days.
But the paladin has been a great source of judgement so far, and if she finds something amiss within this story it must be so rather than simple spitballing

@Stinger My assumption would be that ghouls normally spawn after *months*, i.e. far too long for the players to plausibly have been knocked out for that long.
